Post date: Mar 18, 2014 9:04:05 PM
Our Intermediate team got a win under their belts with a 0-17 to 0-11 point win over Killimor in Baile Doite. Young players like Lairgnean McDermott and Andrew Hurney showed up well from play while Eanna Noone kept the scoreboard ticking from placed balls.
Our u14s keep winning see report and they go to Killimor this weekend.
Our u16 team had a run out see report
The Fr Fitzgerald Cup had another successful year to add to its long history see report and plenty of photos and video on Facebook
St Enda's including Anraoi Whyte, Joseph Lydon, Cian Connell and Evan Hurney made the trip south to face Pallaskenry in Gort but had to be content with their Connacht crown as they were defeated in the All Ireland C Colleges semifinal.
St Mary's College featuring Eanna Kelleghan, Conor Noone, John Lalor, Ronan Higgins, Micheál Bohan, Paul Wynne and Ryan Fox play Roscrea in the Paddy Buggy Cup All Ireland Colleges B semi final on Saturday at 2pm in Whitegate. As native Tom McDermott will tell you, An Geata Bán will be decked out in the right colours for the occasion. Good luck lads
That Saturday fixture will mean that the moveable feast of our U21B fixture against Killimor will be on the move again but CCC will need to advise and it may only move to Sunday.
Galway's Senior hurlers despite almost pulling up before the line led all the way in their 3-14 to 1-17 win over Tipperary in National League Division 1a at Pearse Stadium. A showdown with All Ireland Champions, Clare, the only team to have secured a quarter final place and their Division 1a status, follows next Sunday in Ennis. Tipperary are the only team to have lost a home fixture (to Clare) this campaign.
Congratulations to Portumna who won a fourth All Ireland Senior club title in Croke Park on St Patrick's Day. Mount Leinster had won the Intermediate title in 2012 contested by Mágh Cuilinn.
