Presentation Night for Successful Juvenile Teams

The comparative success in recent years has made the turn of the year an enjoyable experience. The major high of Intermediate County & Connacht success in 2011 was followed by a Minor title in 2012 and U16 in 2013. 2013 saw shield success in U13 and Junior also. On Friday, ther were more medals on the table as our u14 heroes celebrated a first title since 1996 and many of last year's U16 medalists were on hand again for their Shield medal presentation. The event was well attended by players, parents and mentors. Galway County Player, David Collins, who regularly gives freely of his time, was on hand to make the presentations.
David talked about the 12, 14, 16 titles he had won with his club and his regrets that there had been none since, probably because too many from those teams did not retain the same focus and drive on to greater levels. He urged the group present to do that and remember that in 3 or 4 short years the groups here will be needed to bring or keep Senior Hurling in Moycullen. Most of all he said the bonds between team-mates at your club are friendships that carry with you throughout your life.
David himself confided that he has been back in serious training at County level for four weeks and that he continues his regular early morning year round swim in Blackrock.
