CIMC "Pop Up" Shop closes it doors

At 5pm on Saturday 29th October 2011, finally closed its doors about two hours later than planned. In fact people were still literally making purchases from the back of the van as it was about to pull away. The store traded for eight days and the club is bowled over by the support and enthusiasm with which the shop was greeted. The shop was a real focal point for the excitement in the run-up to our County Final appearance. Thank you to all those who supported us. Our apologies that we ran out of some items, particularly club merchandis but our notice to suppliers was short, we were cautious not wanting to create a huge club liability and you were far too enthusiastic to keep up.
We would llike to thank An Cearnóg Nua for making the space available. Our neighbours Supervalu and Webmasters, who gave us a warm welcome and were ready to help all the time. To those who contributed to our unique and constantly evolving lighting system a huge thank you too.
The shop could never have opened but for the volunteers who set it up and manned it. Kathy Keady and Caroline Darcy never seemed to leave, but Patricia McDermott, Peggy Walsh, Rita Donohoe, Bríd Conneely, Marguerite Darcy and of course Micheál Bohan and Shannon Keady meant there was never any shortage of help. Thanks to our suppliers who delivered at short notice particularly the bespoke club gear and other logoed items.
But of course the inspiration and the driving force for the whole enterprise was our Juvenile Secretary, Maureen Bohan, who bullied and cajoled a myriad of suppliers to stock the shop with a great variety of merchandise and ran all of the logistics, stock, deliveries, rotas, pricing throughout the weeks of the operations. An absolute tour de force on her part.
