U10's having a fun but hectic schedule
Post date: Oct 16, 2012 11:37:18 AM
On Sunday evening last Máigh Cuilinn U10's played their 11th game in 4 weeks ( there are 2 teams). The 9th/10th game was on Saturday evening by invitation from Cappataggle and was played under lights at their upgraded facilities. There are 40 players attending regularly made up of 9 and 10 year olds.
Next Sunday we are in the Cup semi final in Carnmore vs Carnmore, with Athenry and Castlegar in the other semi.
Our other squad (essentially our 9 year olds) are in the Shield semi vs Carnmore also. The Máigh Cuilinn Shield side will be anxious to reverse last Sunday's defeat to the same opposition but given the trip to Cappatagle on last Saturday, the CIMC team may be in better form this time round.
Yet another team will compete in their own final vs Mellows also in Carnmore on Sunday. The primary objective at U10 is that everybody participates. We have always given everyone a game even though 40+ players are not accommodated easily into the usual two 11 a-side teams.
On Sunday with a 3rd team involved for Sunday, we will be in a good position to give good game time to everyone.
The essential element in our many travels has been the enthusiastic support of parents, vocally on the sideline but most importantly, both home and away, helping our players to get there, equipped and ready to play. A big thank you to all. Hopefully you have all enjoyed it.
More craic to come on Sunday.
