Update for 22nd to 30th March

All action last weekend and most of it seemed to be in Co Clare.

Sadly the dream of an All Ireland final on live television ended for St Mary's College in Whitegate. In truth Pobal Scoil Roscrea were always in control but Eanna Kelleghan did score St Mary's goal and Conor Noone was on target wice from play.

Hopefully all the guys will anxious to put that behind them and be looking forward to getting back to winning ways when the much postponed and last postponed in deference to the St Mary's game, U21B Championship game against Killimor throws in at 3.30pm in Craughwell on Saturday.

Our u14s are continuing to sweep all before them with another comprehensive defeat of Killimor at home by a score of 4-04 to 0-02. If only our u21s could repeat that result. With the clocks changing at the weekend the u14 Championship moves to Monday evenings but given Mágh Cuilin U14s face an away trip to Woodford, the game may move to Sunday morning.

Our U12s went to Newmarket on Fergus to test the opposition in Clare. By all accounts they were not found wanting and were well matched with there Clare opponents. Proof of the large family that is the GAA, long way from Clare to here or not, Eamon Enright was able to renew acquaintance with his cousin, Mark Enright Delaney who lined out for Newmarket. There is a new team photo on the U12 pageThey took in the Clare/Galway game as did many others afterwards for a great day out Galway did just enough to guarantee a quarter final spot in the League, even though as it turned out they could have lost by 16 points and still finished in the same position. The M18 will get another run again this weekend as Galway take on Limerick in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday at 3.30pm. The opening game in the u16 Championship moves to 1pm on Saturday due to the U21 game at 3.30pm. The u16s head to Ballymacward to face Pearses. If all the players are available there should be be a sufficient panel to contest the fixture without imposing on the u14s.

Overnight we seem to have had yet another fixture added as the Intermediate team travel to Abbeyknockmoy for an 11am throw in the League. Mágh Cuilinn will be hoping to follow up their win against Killimor with another victory.
