April has not been kind as regards results thus far and Mágh Cuilinn will be hoping for better results as the month progresses.

The month opened with the U16 Championship game at home to Ballygar not going ahead despite the presence of both teams due to the absence of a referee.

On the first Saturday, the U21 team restored a great deal of pride with a battling performance in their loser's round tie against Sarsfields. see brief match report

Earlier in the day the U12s had difficult start to their championship, when Clarinbridge garnered the goals despite Mágh Cuilinn superior point scoring ability. Salthill Knocknacarra come to Baile Doite this Saturday at 11am

On the Monday, with the previous week's away fixture not going ahead, our U14s matched their unbeaten record against that of Gort in Baile Doite. In a tight game the teams scored five times each but it was Gort who got the all important goal to win two points by two points, see brief match report. The U14s will try to get back to winning ways with a tough trip to Ahascragh on Easter Monday.

On the Thursday, The U16 team faced a second long journey to an away fixture and travelled without three players. Despite leading throughout, it was Ahascragh who secured another two point victory with a late flurry of scores. see brief match report. The U16s are back in action this Thursday at home to Cois Fharraige.

Last Saturday, the Coaching and Games Academies for U14, U15, U16 began in Tonabrocky and Ballyloughane.

On Sunday afternoon the Minors met Rahoon Salthill in a challenge at the Prairie. Both teams managed to field the bare 15 and there was some nice hurling on offer if a little short of Championship pace. Moycullen led at halftime with points from Anraoi Whyte, Lairgnean McDermott, Ronan Higgins and Ryan Fox contributing to a 1-06 to 0-04 lead. Rahoon Salthill made a brief comeback to parity when Mágh Cuilinn allowed themselves to be completed outnumbered in midfield. John Lalor pushed up to contest the space and the scoring rate returned. Donal McDonagh, Ciaran Barber and Caleb McGuinness all joined the scorers before Carl McDonagh despite being hooked managed to scramble the ball home. Mikey McDonagh set up Carl McDonagh again who this time supplied a more stylish finish to the net. The final score 3-17 to 1-08 but the first championship encounter against Pearses in Baile Doite on Easter Monday will be a sterner test.
